Visual Art
Year 8 students recently undertook a Pop Art unit where we investigated pop culture in the 1950s & 60s compared to popular culture today. In doing so, we looked at the role of advertising in selling products, especially with the evolution of supermarkets, to sell food products. Students created digital drawings of food that are part of popular culture today. They used Pop Art techniques such as bold bright colours, smooth finish and visually enticing to capture the viewer's attention. These food items will be made into large 3D forms, so keep a lookout for these in the future.
Urgent: The Visual Arts department is in need of National Geographic or homeware magazines for artmaking. Thankyou.
