Public Speaking
There are a group of people in the community who are doing all they can to create a better world and they recently invited local high school students to share their vision.
Recently returned after Covid-19, the Coffs Harbour Rotary Club hosted their annual Public Speaking Competition last Wednesday night for senior high school students in the local area.
St John Paul College was represented by two speakers; Koko Nichols in Year 10 and Lilly Gleeson in Year 11. Both speakers have already excelled in our school competition and were eager to develop their skills against the students from Orara High School who had also taken up the challenge.
Both girls spoke with flair and originality and addressed the Rotary Four Way Test of Truth, Fairness, Goodwill and Beneficial for all.
Congratulations to Koko whose speech on “individuality” was outstanding and she won the competition. She will progress to the Rotary District competition that will be held in Tamworth next year.
